About me

I work across contemporary art, learning and public services, with over two decades of experience developing curatorial projects and programmes within galleries, civic organisations and public services including social care and criminal justice.

I am particularly interested in how artistic practice operates within public institutions and services, and how it works alongside other forms of knowledge and professional practice.

My work includes extended collaborative projects—often developing over years—and strategic and advisory work with senior teams, cultural organisations and civic partners.

Central to my work has been close collaboration with, for example, foster carers, artists, young people, residents and social work practitioners—holding different kinds of knowledge and authority with care.

I have held senior roles at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Whitechapel Gallery, Create London and V&A East, and have worked with organisations including Tate, Chisenhale Gallery, Cubitt Artists, Serpentine Galleries and South London Gallery, through curatorial projects, artist-led work and long-term collaborations, alongside civic partners including the Greater London Authority and London borough councils.

I edited Gallery as Community: Art, Education, Politics (Whitechapel Gallery, 2012) and have contributed to publications including Radio Ballads: Songs for Change (Serpentine Galleries, 2025) and Critical Research and Creative Practice with Refugees and Migrant Communities (2025). I am currently developing research for a practice-led PhD in contemporary art.
